Color VS Black & White

Hey guys! ... So I know my blog had taken the leave for quite some time, but I am back on it and promise to make some meaningful shares and conversations from here out! What I really want to bring up today are these pretty photos of mine...

A quick preface for the twin images, they were taken in 2017 and have been some of my relished photos. You can see a typical street in the SOHO district of Hong Kong, that's pretty much known for its international presence and distinct small store feel. Also, the district is on steep terrain, feels cozy and fun to walk around. Fast forward to 2020, the year of the craziness. I am contemplating, whether I should try painting with the black & white image or the colored one?

To me, the black & white version already has a really nice angle, great fade into the sky. Somehow the slight tilt of the camera angle really gave the black & white version an inexplicable feel. On the other hand, I think the colored version may be surprisingly cool if I'd paint it on a square canvas, with a pop vibrant style. What do you guys think?

OR... what if I paint a black & white version on a square canvas? Which by the way, I can see the immense potential AND the skill challenge at creating my black & white version of that photo.
